Bring African MusicInto Your Classroom

Live music, storytelling, and hands-on workshops connect students with the instruments, rhythms, and cultural heritage of Africa. Interactive, curriculum-friendly, and built to spark curiosity.

What Students Experience

Every Session is An Adventure

1

Live Performance & Demonstration

Students meet traditional instruments — kalimba, adungu, and drums — up close. We explore how they're made, how they sound, and the stories they carry. Every session includes live music that invites listening, clapping, and call-and-response.

2

Hands-On Workshops

Learners try the instruments themselves. From plucking their first kalimba notes to learning basic adungu patterns, students discover music through touch and play. No experience needed — only curiosity.

3

Culture & Context

Music does not live alone. We share the history behind each instrument: where it comes from, when it's played, and what it means to the people who made it. Music as a window into another world.

4

Curriculum Connections

Residencies align with music, social studies, history, and global arts standards. Themes include oral tradition, migration, craftsmanship, and how instruments travel across cultures.
